JIT Distributors is against piracy whether it be software or otherwise. We
are NOT in a position to give away other people’s intellectual property and
consequently, we urge all Jamaicans not to support the use of pirated
software and to expose those who use or encourage it. If you are unable to
afford the cost of the 'top end' office, anti-virus and accounting products,
we will assist you in finding suitable ‘free’ alternatives. Also, there are a
significant number of software companies that offer special prices for
students, schools, charitable organizations etc. You may be able to afford
the software without knowing it.
Many Jamaicans have become 'unwilling' participants in software piracy as
they have been 'duped' by individuals and companies to believe that their
'low' cost computers were loaded only with legitimate software until
suddenly they realise that they cannot update their copy of Windows as it is
an illegal copy. Others have been sold a legal copy of the operating system
and have been able to update their computers but are unaware that their
copy of the office products are illegal. Everyone wants to have Microsoft
Office loaded on their computers but few have purchased the proper
licences for it.
Let us unite against all who promote the 'culture of piracy' as this will
undoubtedly come back to haunt us, if not today, sometime in the near
future.
As we are resellers of various branded computer systems we want
customers to know that we will be offended at even the ‘suggestion’ of
piracy. We guarantee that any computer delivered by us will be free from
any pirated software. This may result in our prices being a little more
expensive than some of our competitors but we value our reputation. Do
