                       OVERVIEW
JIT Distributors distributes payroll solutions for the Jamaican market. All products are
compliant with the Jamaican Income Tax laws and are ideally suitable for small and medium
sized businesses.

The solutions are based on the Microsoft Access Program and customers are required to
have their own legal copy of Microsoft Access in order to run the payroll. Data can easily be
exported from the payroll into the other Microsoft software such as Excel.
Output from the payroll can be sent to a printer, screen or PDF files. If you plan to use PDF
files for output, you will need your own PDF software as  this is not integrated in the payroll
program. You can use any of the free PDF readers such as Adobe Reader, Foxit Reader,
Cutepdf etc.

The payroll is compatible with Microsoft Access beginning with the 2000 version. It will work
with various versions of the Windows operating system including Windows 2000, XP and
Windows Vista (all versions).

Finally, you may not need our support if you have your own Microsoft Access programmer.

Simplifying your payroll process
JIT Distributors believes in the simplification of payroll products. Consequently the only
Human Resources data captured in the program are those that are necessary for the
calculation of pay and the filing of annual returns. An exception is made for Data relating to
emergency contacts. We have deliberately decided to trim the 'bulk' as current practice
shows that people who use software tend to use about 30% of the features that are
included in the packages. As a result, the customer ends up paying a lot of money for
features that they do not use.
Ideally we believe that with proper controls, the payroll function can be adequately staffed
by two persons processing up to 600 employees in each payroll cycle. This has been our
experience.
Simplifying the payroll process would include things like direct lodgment of salaries to
employees bank accounts. A report showing employees salaries by bank/branch is
included in the standard reports produced by the program. Many companies are already
doing this and they have reaped benefits such as man hours saved as employees have
been requesting less time off to cash cheques and pay bills.
We have also simplified the process by including in the standard reports a report showing
the payroll Journal for each payroll cycle. This can be used to update the relevant General
Ledger accounts.
